CASE STUDY: The Canadian Professional Golf Tour
A fresh slogan plus Jonathan Toews equals a whole lotta’ eyeballs on the Players Cup
Making the most of our nation’s hockey obsession, mf.1 managed to take a Canadian Tour golf event to a new level of engagement. In the past, The Players Cup struggled to get people out to the event, but in 2011, with leadership from mf.1 and a celebrity presence, attendance was up by 775%.
On a national level, The Canadian Professional Golf Tour also needed help boosting the equity of their event. Something was missing. Something people could hang their hat on. With their brand strategy in mind, mf.1 helped people recognize that the Canadian Tour is where PGA stars are born.
We came up with the, “Tomorrow’s Champions Start Here” campaign, which included marketing materials listing PGA golfers who were also Canadian Tour champions.
