Your interactive relationship status

June 2, 2010 01:37 pm Comments

Have you heard the buzz around interactive media these days?

Why has “interactive” become so popular? I think it’s because it reflects the way our personal relationships develop:

We meet someone new, we strike up a conversation, chat, laugh and exchange phone numbers. We keep in touch and over time, through many interactions, we build up mutual trust and friendship.

Interactive media works in almost exactly the same way.

Instead of pushing static, one-way promotions, interactive media lets us strike up a conversation with our audience. We can captivate them with interesting and valuable information. We can also listen to understand their different needs and opinions. Interactive media lets us gradually build trust to form loyal customer relationships.

The only downside – it takes time to build these relationships. Luckily, we have things like email marketing, and other forms of interactive technology to streamline the process.

I hope these thoughts have piqued your interest. If so, and you’d like to talk more about interactive media, please email me: ryan@mf1.ca or call 204.237.8514.
