“Wait and see” vs. mastering momentum

February 1, 2010 01:44 pm Comments

A few years ago I met this young, timid high school student. He was what his parents called, “The star of the family”. Sky-high grades, inquisitive and if you got to know him, as witty as they come. June was fast approaching and he was tirelessly studying for exams. He was voted in to be valedictorian, so he was pretty excited.

OK, so this is a warm, fuzzy story, and I’m sure you’re wondering, “What’s the point Ryan? Where’s the catch?”

Well, for this small-town youngster there were a few too many challenges surrounding his University dreams. Relocation, fear, lack of confidence, lack of funds and most of all, lack of resources. With no understanding of the options he had, he decided to just “wait and see”.

After grad, he started a minimum-wage job. A few months slipped by, and now, years later, he has accepted this as fate. His dreams of fast cars and big business have transformed to barely making rent and canned soup for dinner. Call it poor planning, but for him, letting momentum fizzle out was just the easier option.

In life, and even in business, momentum is a tricky thing. It can slow down in almost any situation – your education, your relationships, your career, or even your marketing efforts. But the secret to mastering momentum is simple: Feed it with passion and the best resources and technology you can possibly find.

Email marketing has time and time again been proven the most effective and cost efficient way to reach your audience. Help your company master momentum and extend business well into the future by visiting www.orangemail.ca.
